Speaking and Media

It was great to speak to the Forum on April 16, 2026. A very engaged group concerned with the future of humanity in an AI Age, It is always a treat to have a mature audience that includes people from many different business and technology backgrounds. 

I was excited to be asked to speak to a group of Dallas civic and business leaders on AI and Real Humanity on February 26th, hosted by Kyle Ogden. This is a group that has a real and immediate interest in the impact of AI on business and civic life. And were very anxious to engage in further conversation after the event ended. 

It was great to present on AI and Real Humanity for the: Morning Class, The Working Faith Class, and the Discovery Class at HPUMC March and April. On March 28th to a regional gathering of UMC Women of Faith, March 24th morning for the Preston Hollow Men's Fellowship, and in the evening the First UMC Richardson Evening series. Deeply engaged discussions involving many former and present executives in the computer industry. 

I was honored to present workshops on AI and Humanity, and on using AI to teach humanities, on Nov 17 and 18, 2025 for the BAES while they visited the SMU campus. A wonderful and engaging group of scholars with a distinctive contribution to a global dialogue. 

Privileged to give an address on "AI Impacts and Possibilities" to the SMU Industrial Advisory Council on Oct. 24, 2025 at the Moody Graduate School. A very engaged group of CEOs who help guide SMU's engagement with the business world. 

A wonder evening with the Institute exploring "The Meaning of AI in a Multi-faith Society" on Sept. 9th, 2025. Great Q&A with Muslims, Christians, and others committed to community building in North Texas and Dallas. 

Enjoyed engaging fellow university professors as I led a workshop on "Speaker for the Dead; Bespoke AI Chatbots for Student Engagement" in Orlando on May 28th, 2025

On May 20th, 2025 I joined esteemed colleagues making presentations to the SMU faculty on "AI in Higher Education" where I shared my research on how AI can enhance teaching in the humanities. 

I was honored to join a panel of experts from the medical, engineering, legal, and IT world discussing "AI in Professional Life" on May 23rd, 2025 at Scottish Rite Hospital. 

On May 12th 2025 I was honored to give the keynote address, "AI in the Future of Education" to a gathering of academics and business leaders associated with SMU.
